How many nappies do I need?

This really depends on how often you choose to wash your nappies. Most parents wash every other day so we recommend 6 covers and 18-24 cotton cloth nappy pads. A newborn baby would usually be changed 8 times a day, so this would ensure you always have a clean nappy available. As your baby gets older you will not need to change the nappy as often so you may need less covers and pads. Of course if you do not wish to use cloth nappies all the time you won't need as many.

Do not tuck your nappy pad into the flap at the front of the reusable nappy cover, this may cause leakage.

View video clips of how to create these folds yourself.

Putting the nappy on baby

  1. Simply fold the cloth nappy pad according to the diagram.
  2. Place the cloth nappy pad inside the nappy cover.
  3. Place the liner on top of the nappy pad.

The reusable nappy is now ready to place on baby as you would a disposable nappy. Fasten at the front with the Velcro tabs for a snug, secure and comfortable fit. Ensure all the cloth nappy is tucked into the nappy cover to prevent any leaks.

Wet liners can be hand-rinsed or machine washed and used again - making the most of your reusable nappies
