| Other types of re-usable nappies |

There are several different types of reusable nappies and different parents prefer different systems.
The main one’s are: |
Pre-folds (Real Nappies system)
- Made up of 3 parts – a nappy cover, cotton nappy, and optional nappy liner.
- The main advantage of this system is that the nappy pad unfolds for washing, making it easier to wash and quicker to dry.
- The nappy cover lasts several changes, so there is less washing.
All-in-ones
These nappies have the cover and pad in one piece, which means that they don’t have to be assembled when you change the baby. The disadvantage is that the whole nappy has to be washed at each change, and they take a long time to dry. They tend to be more expensive than the pre-fold systems. |
One Size
There are some nappies available which are designed from newborn to toddler in one size. Clearly this is great value for money. The disadvantage is that they can be too large for a small baby, leading to leaks, and not absorbent enough for a toddler. |
Real Nappies uses the pre-fold system in four sizes, as we think it gives the best combination of good leakproof fit, easy washing and drying, and great value for money.
